    You will learn a basic introduction to kinesiology including:

    • leaning about health and exercise
    • learning the major muscles and their actions in relationship with exercise
    • learning the major bones & joints and role they play in exercise
    • learning about the heart and respiratory system
    • learning bio mechanics (the study of human movement)
    • learning how to take your own heart rate and body mass index
    • learning basic nutrition, energy systems and weight loss principles
    • learning about leadership and how to become a fitness professional

    Upon Completion

    Upon completion of the course you will receive an attractive, professional certificate which officiates the completion of the first prerequisite to becoming a fitness professional. This certificate is color laser printed on quality paper and will not fade or smudge. You may proudly hang this certificate on your wall!

     

     
    After taking the Fitness Theory Course, individuals are required to take an additional national fitness exam if they wish to be nationally recognized by NFLA and registered with the BCRPA or OFC. You can arrange this by calling your provincial registering body such as the BCRPA or OFC. 

    You are required to write to write your national theory exam directly after completing the Fitness Theory course and before you register for your specialty module such as group fitness, weigh training and personal training.

    Please take your First Aid (occupational or Industrial) and CPR (Adult or higher) after completing this course and before taking your specialty module. Once you are registered with your provincial registration body, you may then register for your specialty module.
